A site can show this error for a number of reasons, preventing access to the site in its entirety, typically this is down to one of the following reasons below.
- The site doesn't have an SSL certificate assigned to it.
A website may not have an SSL certificate immediately after signing up for a hosting package. This is due to our server using an automated system to provision the certificate for you, this can take a few minutes to run and then a few more to apply. Typically sites will be up and running within 15 minutes, but can take up to an hour. - The SSL certificate has expired
If the SSL expires, this is due to the certificate originally being provisioned by a company other than LycanHost or a mis-configuration on your account. We do set all our SSL certificates to auto-renew as standard to avoid interruptions to your service - A setting has been misconfigured by our server.
If a setting has been misconfigured, this will typically be a domain name being mis-spelt, we would ask you to contact support by submitting a Support Ticket and we will endeavour to have your site online as soon as possible.
